What is the Orange Circle?

The Orange Circle certificate, which was created to facilitate the adaptation of businesses and airline companies in Izmir to the normalization process after the pandemic and to ensure that Izmir survives this process safely, aims to make Izmir a hygienic and reliable tourism destination. The certificate will be given free of charge to businesses that comply with the criteria set by the Izmir Tourism Hygiene Board and have successfully completed the inspections within the framework of the relevant legislation. The Orange Circle is also a requirement for businesses to apply for the Selluka award.
 

What Is the Purpose of the Orange Circle?

The Orange Circle certificate, which was created to facilitate the adaptation of businesses and airline companies in Izmir to the epidemic process and to ensure that Izmir survive this process safely, aims to make Izmir stand out as a hygienic and reliable tourism destination. In addition, the Orange Circle aims to reward the municipal licensed accommodation and food and beverage establishments, as well as airline companies which contribute Izmir being a healthy city, and to strengthen to the tourism sector of Izmir by promoting these businesses on domestic and international platforms.
 

Orange Circle Criteria

 Hygiene criteria has three separate scoring systems as food & beverage facilities, accommodation facilities and airline companies. Scoring in food and beverage facilities is over 100 points, and businesses with a minimum score of 75 are awarded an Orange Circle certificate. The scoring in accommodation facilities is over 200 points and it is necessary to get a minimum of 150 points for the Orange Circle. Score points in airline companies are over 100 points and companies with a minimum score of 75 are entitled to receive the Orange Circle certificate. What is the Tourism Hygiene Board?

İzmir Tourism Hygiene Board was established to determine the hygiene and safety criteria to be applied in accommodation and drinking establishments affiliated to the municipality as well as airline companies so that tourism activities can continue during the normalization process. The Board continues its activities in coordination with the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Izmir Foundation. İzmir Tourism Hygiene Board consists of representatives of the following institutions:
Izmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO), Izmir Tradesmen and Artisans Chambers Union (IESOB), Aegean Touristic Enterprises and Lodging Association (ETİK), Istanbul Chamber of Guides (İZRO), Turkey Travel Agencies Association (TÜRSAB), Izmir Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, Yasar University, Turkey restaurateur and Pastry Federation, Bayraklı Municipality.
 

How Do I Apply?

 Businesses wishing to obtain an Orange Circle certificate can submit their requests to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and district municipalities by hand or online. The enterprises that will be evaluated as a result of the application will be entitled to receive the Orange Circle certificate if they meet the hygiene criteria. Airline companies wishing to obtain an Orange Circle certificate can send the required documents via yaziisleri@izmir.bel.tr and Turizm@izmir.bel.tr or personally forwarding them to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Foreign Relations and Tourism Department Tourism Branch Directorate.
